    A Work in Progress

I guess I should have started with this, but I would like to thank all the people who have contributed to this work either directly or indirectly, voluntarily or involuntarily. I have received overwhelming support for the content posted over the past six weeks and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you.

You may have noticed that there was no post today, no it wasn’t a case of the Mondays! I spent the day formalizing a plan to release the complete work as an electronic book during the holidays. Some of the content posted thus far will remain unchanged, others will be tweaked and improved. Every rule will get dedicated artwork and explanation.

If you want to get into the mind of a bachelor, please keep checking back for updates, share with your friends and reread the already posted rules. If you are looking for a new daily blog, please check out any of the blogs that The Bachelor Code follows. Awesomeness365.com and SamuelKeene.com will continue to be updated on their regular schedules.

    Forget T&A

Historically, men have been separated into two groups when it comes to their desires for the female body: ass guys and boob guys.

While these may be pretty good categorizations, they leave out what I would consider my favorite parts of the female body. Consider the following areas:

Back Dimples - small impressions in the lower back. I’ve found that girls typically don’t like these but to men, they are incredible.
Lower Abs - Lower Abs? Yes. Lower abs create a nice flat and smooth lead into the pelvis. Consider the image above. Everyone has their opinion on hips, but if a girl has nice lower abs, the hips will always look good.
Legs - You are at the beach, enjoying the beautiful weather and well, the scenery. What do you look at first? Me? I see legs. Nonchalantly resting against the sand, carefree but perfect.
Bi/Triceps - Shoulders typically get all the love, but for me it’s what they lead into. A nice Bi/Tri combo can be breathtaking in an evening gown.
Neck - Probably the most sexual choice of the above. Neither too narrow or thick, a perfectly proportioned neck will absolutely receive a lot of attention.
Hair - Beyond the health of the hair, the style and versatility can be very sexy. A girl who can rock a stunning up-do and convert it to a messy bun at the end of the night takes the cake. For women, hair is connected to self esteem and personality, find a carefree girl with awesome hair and you’re onto something.

    The Dreaded Conversation

    via singlemindedwoman.com

Dating is tough. It’s a constant push and pull of interests from two differing parties. Three phrases seem to sum up the majority of ‘physical’ interactions:

One Night Stand - the hit it and quit it, aka the ‘toot it and boot it’. This happens when both individuals are attracted to the other but have no intentions for the interaction to last more than 8 hours.

Defining the Relationship - ‘DTR’. Typically happens after an ongoing cycle of dates, a DTR allows both parties input on what the future of the relations will be. You will almost always walk away from this conversation with a girlfriend/boyfriend or a broken heart/sigh of relief (depending on what side you are on).

Defining the Interaction - ‘DTI’ aka The Dreaded Conversation. In principle, this falls somewhere between the ONS and DTR or in facebook terms, ‘it’s complicated.’ It is neither clear-cut, like a ONS, nor intended for the long term, like the DTR. One side or both come into situation with conditions or rules. This prompts an awkward, typically mid-kiss, conversation that goes something like this, “Hey, before we do anything else, I wanted to point out…” [Insert stomach drop, awkward shuffle here]

Agree? Disagree? Anything I left out?

    Open to Interpretation

Names like Warhol, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh echo through the history books alongside artistic styles like pop art, portraiture, and impressionism. Everyone has different tastes and if you aren’t an art historian, chances are, not all of these masterpieces speak to you. This makes your job quite a bit easier, just know the vitals about the pieces you choose for your place. What are these vitals you say? Let me tell you:

Artist: Even if this was some local tagger, know their name.
Period/Style: Traditional art has been described to death, so you shouldn’t have any issues finding this information.
Inspiration: There’s a story behind each piece of art. If it’s a custom, the story is all the more interesting.
Size: This is important for framing but also shows that you know and care about it’s placement on your wall.

If it’s a remake or a parody, you may want to know about the original as well.

This information is nowhere near complete, but unless art is your hobby, it will suffice to justify a beautiful piece gracing your wall.

Finally, art should reflect the owner. Not every bachelor will be able to afford an original Warhol, but finding a local, starving artist shouldn’t be hard. These can often be the best pick ups.
